10 Favorite TV Shows

It's time for another blog post which fits into the category of "Who Cares?"
But, let's face it, while I could certainly write about politics, which is something I do care about a great deal, I immediately alienate half of the world. And since I'm just trying to average 14 readers per post (which is a 10% increase in readership) I have to do whatever I can to not scare away people.
Still, though, the top ten TV shows that I like to watch will cause controversy and debate. But it's far less likely that someone won't hire me to do a hypnosis show just because I like to watch these shows as opposed to saying whether or not I like Obama.

10- Game of Thrones - HBO
I have always been a fan of these types of medieval-looking, fantasy stories. I wish there were more than 10 shows in a season, though. There are so many story lines that I don't think get developed enough.

9- Impractical Jokers - TruTV
Q, Murr, Joe and Sal are life-long friends who prank each in other public in a hidden camera show. Easily the funniest hidden-camera show created and the formula for this particular show has been stolen and put on another network.

8- The Bachelor - ABC
Yes, as those who read this blog know, I am a big fan of this show. It's not for any romantic reason at all. This is one of the funniest reality shows out there. People actually think that they can find the love of their lives on a TV show because that's the last place they can think of to do it. I also happen to be a savant at picking who will be the final four after watching just the first episode. This is my fifth year watching and I am 18 for 20 and have picked three winners correctly, one was in second, and tomorrow we will find out if Whitney will become my 4th winner or 2nd second-place selection.

7- America's Got Talent - NBC
I appreciate this because I am an entertainer. I love to see people who have worked hard and are extremely talented but just haven't been seen by the right people, or whatever has happened to keep them from greater success, finally earn the accolades they they desire.

6- Banshee - Cinemax
I stumbled across this one of late. Its got a lot of violence and sex in it so it has me hooked. Just finishing its 3rd season.

Although not on TV, one of the funniest shows out there is the Marshal Manlove Comedy Hypnosis Show of course. Press the link to see highlights.  ;)

5- Homeland - Showtime
Claire Danes is the lead here and they have just finished their 4th season, I believe...or third. It's basically a show about terrorism with Danes as a CIA agent.

4- The Following - Fox
This has Kevin Bacon in it, so its awesome. He is ab FBI agent tracking serial killers. I had to chance to see him perform with his brother at the NY State Fair when I was doing my own show up there in his band The Bacon Brothers.

3- Big Brother - CBS
When it originally came out I could have cared less. But after accidentally catching some of it one season I found myself hooked to the point where I sent an audition tape in one season. I'm too old and nasty for consideration but I'm still a big fan of the strategy involved and the engineering and production of the show.

2- Survivor - CBS
Now in its 30th season, a remarkable television feat. It is still the all-time best reality game show out there even you can debate the reality aspects of it. (Cops is an actual reality show.) I have auditioned and sent in tapes a few times for this show because I am such a fan. I don't do it every season though because, quite frankly, I don't really like the sun and bugs that much, and I like food way too much.

1- The Big Bang Theory - CBS
One of the top-five all-time sit coms of all time. I will watch reruns of this show every single day. Jim Parsons, who plays Sheldon Cooper, is a comic genius in every sense  of the word who stole this show. I might even be so bold as to say this is the BEST sit coms of all time over Cheers and Seinfeld. (My #2 and #3.)

What is your current top-ten list of shows you like, if you watch TV? Which sit coms do you think are the top 5 of all time?

I know that I go back and forth about which way this should all go...important stuff or just pop-culture stuff. It just is what it is and helps me like a journal does for some people.

10 Funny Hypnosis Scenes

I am often asked about the funniest, or craziest, things I have seen happen in my comedy hypnosis show. Here are ten off the top of my head.

1- I have an old ALF stuffed animal which is sometimes part of the show. Often it is used as a “baby” which was just birthed by a man. Here is one guy breast feeding ALF, his newborn son.

2- At a home party the two sons of my host were helping set up chairs. They told me that at where the end of one side of the row was placed their dog had peed earlier that day. They were later hypnotized and sitting at that part of the row sandwiched around one of their friends. The kids were all turned into different animals with the two son’s friend made to believe he was a dog. He opened his eyes, got down on all fours, and the two sons both looked down at him now believing he was a dog and one of the boys pushed his friends face right into the spot where their own dog had peed just as if their friend had actually done it.

3- Eliciting bad smells always creates a lot of laughter. What people say to others who they believe smell read funky is just as funny as the faces people make. In one high school show a boy looked at the boy sitting next to him, made a funny face, gagged, then laid down on the floor and shouted out, “Oh my God, why don’t you just shit on my face!?”

4- This…

5-  This guy came up to me before the show and told me he could never be hypnotized. That is a chair that he believes is stuck to his ass.

Host your own comedy hypnosis show Marshal Manlove - Comedy Hypnotist

6- Rendering people unable to speak anything but nonsense is a common skit. But they have to return to their normal way of speaking so I usually have someone shout out something in English so, “I know I haven’t broken” them. One petite and soft spoken college girl was asked to say something in English and she demurely stated, “I like…to play…with…balls.” It took 3 minutes before the crowd stopped crying from laughing at that one.

7- “The ground turns into a magnet, a giant flesh magnet.” This always creates funny. This girl’s face is stuck to the floor.

8- Adult shows are my favorite but I can rarely take pictures or video. A classic skit is one where people think of the most incredible physical feeling they have ever had, like, you know…a warm bubble bath, the sun on your face on the beach, a cuddly puppy, things like that. Then whenever I touch my ear they experience that feeling. 95% of the time they opt for a different feeling than any that I mention and you may have an idea about where they go in their minds. I intensify it 3 times with the third time being the “climax” of the show. In one particular show a rather larger guy was getting so into it that on the third and final intensification the folding chair exploded into four pieces underneath his ass. It didn’t stop the good time that was being had and it even continued after I stopped touching my ear.

9-  Um…

Head: BOOM

Whenever I think I have things figured out in life I quickly am kicked in the ass in some way to remind me that I don't have a clue.

I was reading about mitochondrial donation this morning and the British debate about it merits, ethics, and potential dangers.

Essentially this procedure takes DNA from a multitude of people, for the most part three as far as I can tell, and create an embryo with that DNA.
This is supposed to help reduce, at the very least, mitochondrial diseases passed on to the fetus.

The opponents claim their opposition is based on safety, ethics, eugenics, bad medicine and religious reasons.
The obvious result of mitrochondrial donations

I'm only going to comment on the religious aspect, for some odd reason besides the lack of time people actually read what I have to write.

My particular issue with people who oppose science on religious grounds is based on the fact that billions of people over the years pray for cures for their family members and friends who are beset with tragic diseases.
All of a sudden a potential cure comes around and many of those same people ignore it and dismiss it as black magic or voodoo or skullcrockery or whatever they decide to call it.

Couldn't that potential cure be God's answer to the prayer? Am I one of the few who see that? I can't be, can I?

On the other hand I find it so ironic that there are those who view science in such a way that it can only be described as a religious following itself.
One thing I hear that always blows my mind is a statement such as, "But that's science. It's scientific fact," when we know that science and scientists are wrong over and over and over again.

Even Steven Hawking, the alleged genius, has proven himself wrong about at least one pretty important theory which helped him rise up the ranks of alleged geniuses.

When can common sense get injected into any of these discussions?
I really need to apply that to "global warming," or "climate change." One minute of a common-sense conversation blows the entire theory of this "settled science."

NEVER in any of the discussions about climate change (and when we say this we are talking about man-made climate change or global warming) does the great fireball in the sky get mentioned.
That is unless someone who is skeptical of the "science" talks about it before quickly being denounced as a charlatan and a freak by the wealth redistributionists who created the hoax from the start.

The whole worry about climate change? That the Earth will be 1 degree warmer by 2050. That is these "scientists" claim the computers models suggest.
These computers, of course, are the same ones that can't tell us within one degree of accuracy what next week's temperatures are going to be.
7 days ago the weather report for my area for yesterday said the temperature was going to be 48 and it was going to rain. It was 31 and snowed 4 inches. That is a 17 DEGREE MISTAKE.

The "scientists," and Al Gore who should be jailed for life for stealing the nearly billion dollars of wealth he has accumulated helping market this fraudulent scheme, want me to believe what will happen in 2050? And then they want to tax me more and regulate the energy companies more so that I have to pay more in energy bills every month to "solve the problem?"

These people need to be out of our lives.

Anyway, so I can see while there are certainly skeptics of mitochondrial donation, if I simply take the weather as a reason for it. But at the same time we do have to realize that science has, of course, saved billions of lives as well.

But is staring at a potential cure and, therefore, a potential answer to one's prayer and ignoring it an affront to God?

I'm not a scientist or a religious person so I can remain objective and make silly commentary off on the side of the battlefield. But I am also pretty happy I am not on either side because the more of this stuff I read, hear and see the more my head swells to the point of potential explosion.

New NBC News Anchor

The Bryan Williams story makes me shake my head. If I'm in charge of deciding if he stays or goes based on what he did, he goes. It's a no-brainer.

I know for a fact that in 5 minutes I can find a replacement who will do a better job, represent my company better and will cost me less.

There are only 3 major network nightly news shows like this and perhaps, oh I don't know, 5 million people from whom to choose to take that spot so it should go without saying that if he made up a story or embellished a story and reported such a fabrication or embellishment that he gets fired.
Take note NBC. I will read the teleprompter as a news anchor for that show for...I don't know...$250,000 per year?! Think of all of the money that you will save and I won't make up stories.

The fact that its a major news story keeps my head shaking. Every other tv and cable opinion show host makes it a lead story. I get that in their industry its big, but I am pretty sure they are the only ones who really care.

This does bring me back to the situation with athletes who cheat to win. Bryan Williams is no different than them when it comes right down to it.
Just another example of a potential role model who fails at being one.
I think we all need role models but I think that real role models need to be richly rewarded instead of these lying, cheating scumbags who do.

One of my friends is one of the more talented, organized and hard-working people I know. He is broke. It doesn't make sense.
Williams is making 13 million dollars a year. I should say, WAS, because he did get suspended without pay. He is worth a reported 50 million dollars.

Good for him in the sense that anyone should have the ability to earn whatever they can make in this country. I just think it should be done honestly.

I drive a lot of miles every year; less so than about 10 years ago but a lot. Gas prices and tolls are an issue for me. So I have to say this...ANY politician who proposes a gas tax hike or a tax per mile driven should be immediately removed from office.

I know that a couple of cents here and there doesn't really make a big difference in reality. But in perception it does and in politics perception IS reality.

So I don't care in which party such a jackmeat resides. If he or she proposes raising those sorts of taxes they should be pitchforked out of office.

Our country, again, continues to set records for tax income. We have become champions at removing money from people's and company's coffers. It's truly disgusting and what's even worse is that we continue to set new records on overspending. They are all guilty of it, no matter who steps up to say otherwise, because the end result is all that matters.
And this will just get worse, I'm afraid.

This is just a basic rant. I really wish I had something profound to say so that I can inspire a generation today. Alas, I don't. So, it's back to work trying to make a living which politicians will yank out from under me. It's back to trying to figure out why the world is so backwards that liars, cheaters and criminals prosper when my friends who work hard and create amazing things and do nothing but good are broke.

Back in the Groove

Happy New Year to everyone.
Any News Year's resolutions for you?
I do make them every year although they are more goal oriented.
Last year I did not reach my goals though and it was a bit distressing. My particular issue was that I set a particular financial goal but didn't even focus on all of the moving parts that would ultimately have made it possible to reach it.

So this year the overall goal is the same but the focus is taking care of the details.
There are a lot of things into which I get my hands and if you pass through my world at all you will hear about a lot of things, some old and some new. Please just keep in mind that anything that I do all has a final purpose. It might look like I am crazy and scattered but I just have an ultimate goal and will do whatever it takes to get there and reach it, that is legal and doesn't hurt anyone.

Some people will do whatever it takes to succeed including illegal, immoral and unethical things to get there. It can sometimes be frustrating watching those people in action and then to see the damage that all of those actions causes. But I do think that, in the end, they get what they deserve.

Take, for example, the recent MLB Hall of Fame selections, Randy Johnson, Pedro Martinez, Johns Smoltz and Craig Biggio.
Craig Biggio

John Smoltz

Randy Johnson

Pedro Martinez

These four guys had great success during the steroid era of baseball.
Now, on the surface, one might wonder how the heck Craig Biggio's star shined so brightly beyond the fact that he amassed over 3000 hits, usually one of those numbers that people reach that end of earning such a selection.
Other offensive players during his time included Barry Bonds, Sammy Sosa, Rafael Palmeiro, Mark McGwire and Juan Gonzalez. All had much better numbers and/or exciting careers, but all have been linked to steroid use and cheating at succeeding.
For the pitchers, the other three had to face one of the most successful pitchers of the era in Roger Clemens, a 7-time Cy Young award winner who won over 300 games and had over 4000 strikeouts; again, normally a 100% lock for HoF induction. BUT...he cheated too. So...NO SOUP FOR YOU CLEMENS...and Bonds, and Sosa, and McGwire and Palmeiro.

I was watching pieces of Cocaine Cowboys the other day and took particular note to a building boom in Miami in the 80's; most of it financed by blood money. Most of those connected to it either in jail or dead or cracked out in some alley somewhere.

So while the lure of financial success can be great and, I admit it is for me because I simply don't want to work anymore; I just want to retire in peace and travel like most everyone else I know does, I will never resort to cheating, in any way, to get there.

I had to watch the Golden Globes last night and since I had to I made the best of it. One of the shows I watch and recommend is The Affair on Showtime. Don't laugh, it's awesome, and it won a GG for best show in one of the categories and best actress in Ruth Wilson, who gets naked a lot in the show.

Another show I recommend is on Cinemax called Banshee. It's in its third season now and there is much hotness, nakedness, and blood on there with some good plot twists to keep it exciting.

Of course, its that time of the year for The Bachelor, the best sit-com on TV next to The Big Bang Theory. It's a game show for me where I show off a very useless talent picking out the final four winners after watching the very first show with amazing success. For those interested this year will feature Whitney, Kaitlyn, Jade and Becca as the Final Four. Whitney will be the winner. Yes...Whitney with the horrible voice.
Kaitlyn

Whitney

Jade

Becca

That's it. I know, its been about 9 months since I posed in here. There will be more this year; its part of my focus.

Insanity

Misao Okawa, a Japanese woman, just celebrated her 116th birthday. She credits her old age to eating a lot of sushi and getting proper amounts of sleep.

Many people would consider Misao blessed with such longevity. These pictures are exactly why living to 116 is simultaneously a curse. I’m having a hard time getting dates now at 52. I can’t imagine the horror of trying to get one 54 years from now, unless some Fountain of Youth miracle makes its way into our lives.

Who would want to have sex with her except someone who is 130 or 140? And is it even remotely possible, if someone that old was around, that Misao would want to give it up to a 130 year old and whatever he might look like?

Since the Tonight Show has changed hands and Jay Leno has been booted out in favor of Jimmy Fallon, I have clicked back and forth between the four or five late-night shows in the last couple of weeks. (Fallon, Letterman, Kimmel, O’Brien, and even Arsenio Hall.)

Why anyone gave Arsenio Hall a show again is beyond me. He sucked in his old one but I guess all around he is a nice guy.

Jimmy Kimmel was the least funny of the duo that rose to some cult fame as co-host of The Man Show. Adam Corolla is much funnier and should have gotten that slot. But the Kimmel show is still decent.

Conan O’Brien had the Tonight Show for a while and I always liked him and still do.

The clear mystery now is David Letterman. Man, it’s time for him to get put out to pasture. He looks horrible, hasn’t been funny or relevant for at least ten years, and his audience is forced into laughing at jokes he still thinks he is delivering with the vigor and effectiveness of his younger days.

I would rather see Misao Okawa do his monologue every night now. Then the show would make much more sense.

Baseball players are back in Spring Training and pre-season games have already begun. Even as big of a fan as I am of baseball, I just can’t seem to get into it. I know that there are personal reasons that have nothing to do with baseball that are the cause of it. That makes me pretty sad. But once the season starts and I can start playing Fantasy Baseball again, I’ll be more enthused.

Speaking of Fantasy Baseball, the best baseball game out there is from Strat-O-Matic. I’ve been a fan of the SoM games since before I was ten years old and I sent $5 cash in an envelope to that company to make a purchase. They dutifully, and honestly, sent my board game to me and I had my face in that game for a lot of time. The computer version isn’t one that you might think it is. It’s not a graphically driven game. Its more for fans of stats of the game and baseball is the best game for sports stats lovers like me. They even have fantasy leagues with players all over the country, and world I guess too, that make use of players from seasons since the start of baseball. Fascinating stuff for those inclined to dig that sort of thing, like me.

Finally the weight that I gained over the course of the last 4 months of 2013 when I was in a short-term relationship is gone. The gym has been my friend the last couple of weeks along with the fact that I referee basketball games and had a chance to do a lot of running around doing that this season.

Couldn't care less about the Oscars so that means I'm...
