I've bounced back and forth between the subjects about which I would like to blog; baseball and hypnotism. I am big baseball fan and I am a hypnotist.
Finally I figured that instead of doing two different blogs, I would write two in one and thus the new name of this blog - Basenotism.
The name of the blog might very well change too. I am interested in other things, of course, and may include them here. For example I am interested in talking about movies so the name could change to basemovinotism, or some type of mixture of the three.
It doesn't really matter if its likeable or not. It's original and that's what matters.
Everything is slow right now so there is not a whole lot of which to speak. There is no need for background information or for me to write 100 pages on what I have already experienced and thought about baseball and hypnosis. Those thoughts and ideas can be filled in along the way.
One interesting story of note in the baseball world broke yesterday though. Gil Meche, a pitcher for the KC Royals, is quitting baseball.
I know, right? Gil Meche was in baseball?! Go figure!
Well he was until the other day when he decided to hang it up. Apparently he realized he probably shouldn't be in baseball any more given how miraculous it was that he was there anyway.
But Gil was owed 12 million dollars on the remainder of his contract.
Rather than try to hang in there somehow and get paid for what was agreed that he owed, he claimed that he was not worth 12 million dollars and is not taking it.
What? Wow! That is a man with actual character and now I am sad he is leaving baseball! How ironic that turns out, huh?
Gil should be ok even though he is not accepting the 12 million dollars. He has made 50 million dollars playing baseball and I would imagine that he is set for life. (He better be!)
Three cheers for Gil Meche and best wishes for whatever he does from here. Hopefully it will be working with younger professional baseball players.
