Are you happy at where you are in life these days, career-wise?
What would you do to improve upon your present situation?
Do you have an idea for a new business or trying to get one started?
A friend of mine, Clint Dantinne, started a dance radio network designed to run on HD radio. The details of all that are complex (and can be found on the website that supports it.)
But trying to start a new business in this economy is tough. I started my hypnosis career about 4 years ago but despite successes of mine along the way these last two years have been very, very difficult.
So again, think about this for a moment. What would YOU do to succeed?
Clint started his new business about 2 years ago and it has been very costly to start and maintain and finding the type of business that he needs is something I can't even fathom.
So backed into a corner (although that's my phrasing, not his) and determined to make this work he has decided to put everything on the line. He is risking it all and is going to do something that I think will set a standard that will be hard to beat and perhaps even record breaking.
Clint is in preparation to drive to every single state in the country and visit every major radio market in each state and pitch his business. That does include Alaska and Hawaii (he can't drive to Hawaii of course but he's going there too.)
Clint doesn't have the type of cash to do this. So he is going to sleep in his car. He'll make use of truck stops for showers, he'll use camping equipment to prepare food instead of visiting places to eat.
He has this so planned out that he has included in his plan a magnetic window screen for his car so that he'll be able to stay in it during hot weather for ventilation and keep bugs out of the car while sleeping.
The trip begins in March. He'll hit the surrounding states first which includes the ones from where he can drive home at night. The trip will conclude in November.
Clint will succeed in his business. But I knew that before he even planned out this trip. In fact, this trip doesn't really even surprise me. It, or something very close to it, is only something that he would naturally do for a very specific reason. He has something that it takes to become successful or at least reach his goal.
I'll write more about what that is the next time.
